Netflix unveils the official Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood trailer revealing Richard Linklater's return to the animated genre. The animated sci-fi drama centers on Stan, a young boy in Houston, Texas in 1969 with dreams of taking to space in the wake of the success of the Apollo 10 mission. He finds his dream possibly coming true as NASA comes to him for help with a lunar mission after accidentally building a module too small for an adult and recruited to head to the moon.
Milo Coy is leading the ensemble cast of Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood alongside Lee Eddy, Bill Wise, Natalie L'Amoreaux, Josh Wiggins, Sam Chipman, Jessica Brynn Cohen, Danielle Guilbot, Zachary Levi, Glen Powell and Jack Black. Linklater is writing, directing and producing the animated film, with development having first been announced in early 2018 before Netflix acquired the rights with the cast attached in mid-2020. Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood is set to make its world premiere at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival and now audiences are getting their first glimpse at the animated adventure.
