Apex Legends has a long and in-depth lore. Even before you get to the Titanfall connections - which is essentially a whole single-player campaign’s worth of background for the Apex Games - there are comics, coffee table books, and animated shorts that build the worlds and characters of the game.
I won’t go into it in detail right now, because there’s simply too much ground to cover. You could practically write a novel for each character at this point, so it’s no surprise that an animated show based on the game is rumoured to be in the works. Today, though, I’ll focus on the latest trailer and what it could mean for future (or past) characters from the Apex Legends universe.

A casual viewer might think the trailer is focusing on new addition Mad Maggie, and potentially giving us an insight into her abilities. These seem to be less combat-oriented than I initially thought, but she looks cool nonetheless and I’m happy for her to be the centre of attention for the time being. But the real main character of the Season 12 trailer was Octane - or more specifically, his dad.
Octane’s dad has created a secret base on Olympus and shifted it through space - potentially to above Storm Point? But necessary map changes aside, Duardo Silva is trying to wrest control of the Apex Games - that’s the in-universe name for the battle royale you fight in - away from the Syndicate, or rather Kuben Blisk who is currently the games’ commissioner.
