Summer months can be long and slow in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but players can plan non-official events and get-togethers to help past the time. Now in its third year, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has continued to recycle events from previous years with few changes. This has also included a frustrating lack of new events to spruce up long stretches of empty time in the game, making certain parts of the year less interesting to participate in. Unfortunately, this includes the majority of the summer, with the time between June and October largely lacking in content.
While a lack of summer events in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be frustrating, many players already experienced the dry spell last summer, when large-scale updates suddenly stopped dropping around new events after May. Because of this, many chose to throw unique island parties, or celebrate the few repeating activities like Fireworks Shows with community get-togethers using New Horizons' multiplayer feature. This offered New Horizons fans a way to come together regularly, as well as a chance to connect and show off new island designs and projects that had been worked on throughout the summer.

However, this year, New Horizons fans may be looking for a new way to spend the warmer months with friends, and weekly camping trip celebrations could be the perfect option. Camping events could be set up to happen on the same nights as New Horizons' Fireworks Shows, with players creating cute campsite designs to share. Like birthday party events or other celebrations, the players invited to the camping trip could travel to a host island, and bring different crafted treats to share
