Coming on the heels of a busy San Diego Comic-Con, Disney appears to be teeing up some big news for audiences to dig into when D23 kicks off in September. Gamers, especially, have plenty to look forward to at the event as Disney will host a digital showcase for its slate of upcoming games, with much of the focus being on several Star Wars and Marvel games currently in development. One of said Marvel games is known to be from Skydance's Amy Hennig, one of the creative leads behind the first three Uncharted games, and a new press release confirms her game will be an «ensemble» title featuring multiple heroes.
Amy Hennig's Marvel game is one of two games the industry veteran is heading up as part of Skydance New Media, a relatively new division within Skydance the former Uncharted director joined in 2019. The aforementioned Marvel game was the division's first title announced in conjunction with Marvel Entertainment in October 2021, and is known to be a narrative-driven action-adventure title. Skydance followed up in April 2022 by announcing it was also working on another such game with Lucasfilm Games set inside the Star Wars universe.
Marvel and Disney Announce Games Showcase for Next Month
Previously, little information about either upcoming game had been shared publicly other than the respective genres and focus on narrative, which isn't surprising given Hennig's tenure at Naughty Dog. It doesn't appear to be changing any time soon for Skydance's Star Wars game. That said, Disney has confirmed some additional information about the studio's upcoming Marvel game set to be part of the D23 Disney and Marvel Games Showcase. In a press release, Disney says the game will be an «ensemble game,» set to feature multiple heroes
