Twitch streamer Kaitlyn «Amouranth» Siragusa might be one of the most popular content creators on the site, but recently she's been dealing with the dangerous side of that popularity. While Amouranth has been dealing with a stalker that she took very seriously, it appears at least one member of the local police didn't grant the situation the weight it deserved.
Earlier this month, the Twitch streamer started detailing a situation where a man from Estonia traveled all the way to the United States to get physically close to her. Over the last few weeks, she's put some of the evidence she had against this stalker, including pictures that he sent her on social media. However, she also talked about the fact that despite compiling these pieces of evidence, she didn't feel that law enforcement was reacting to the situation correctly.

Eventually, Amouranth's stalker was arrested when he showed up at her house. However, the streamer also wanted to make it clear that she felt as though only arresting him once he came to her house wasn't nearly enough and talked about how the attention on her case had ratcheted up in the last few weeks. She added that «shining a spotlight» on cyberstalking was something that was quite important, pointing out that at least one police detective had even told her that cyberstalking was «not a real threat.»
Amouranth said that when she talked to this detective from her jurisdiction, the law enforcement official had downplayed the situation. However, she eventually got a call from «on high» that seemed to demonstrate someone higher up the chain did indeed take it a bit more seriously.
