The God of War Ragnarok release date sadly remains a mystery, with leaks and rumors suggesting many different release dates or delays.
As a sequel to the franchise's 2018 installment, God of War Ragnarok will reportedly see Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to locate Tyr, the old Norse God of War. Their quest will apparently be an attempt to stave off Ragnarok, the titular apocalyptic event fated to bring an end to the Norse world and its lineup of gods. The game will also see Kratos and Atreus face off against their former ally Freya, the All-Father Odin and the mighty Thor. The game's version of the iconic God of Thunder will naturally wield the hammer Mjolnir, with God of War Ragnarok's Thor actor Ryan Hurst recently recording his lines for the project.

A recent report from eXputer writer and industry insider Tom Henderson suggests that the Collector's Edition of God of War Ragnarok will include a 1:1 scale replica of Mjolnir. Thor's magical hammer is mentioned often in 2018's God of War before making a dramatic appearance in a hidden cutscene at the end of the game. Henderson claims that a special Jotnar Edition of God of War Ragnarok will come with the replica hammer alongside the game itself.
