The hugely-anticipated title will serve as a direct follow-up to 2018's God of War, which followed protagonists Kratos and Atreus on an epic journey through the realms of Norse mythology. The God of War Ragnarok release date sadly remains a mystery, with leaks and rumors suggesting many different release dates or delays.

As a sequel to the franchise's 2018 installment, God of War Ragnarok will reportedly see Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to locate Tyr, the old Norse God of War. Their quest will apparently be an attempt to stave off Ragnarok, the titular apocalyptic event fated to bring an end to the Norse world and its lineup of gods. The game will also see Kratos and Atreus face off against their former ally Freya, the All-Father Odin and the mighty Thor.
