Today, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Tindalos Interactive have announced the release date of Aliens: Dark Descent, a single-player real-time tactical action game set in the beloved sci-fi horror universe.
Originally announced at E3 2022, Aliens: Dark Descent was later checked out by our resident strategy buff Chris Wray at Gamescom 2022. Here's an excerpt from his thoughts at the time:
Despite any reservations I may have about the behaviour of the Xenomorphs, and they may be completely unfounded - Tindalos Interactive (Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, Etherium) is still developing the game - I am interested in Aliens: Dark Descent. An XCOM-like title with real-time tactical elements set in the Alien Universe will always interest me. It certainly looks to have the atmosphere; I hope it's got the gameplay when it releases in 2023.

The game will be released on June 20th (just like Crash Team Rumble). Pre-orders are also available on Amazon, priced at $39.99. Aliens: Dark Descent will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam.
