Viewers of Alaskan Bush People have come to recognize that Ami Brown has a lot of strength and is resilient. The last two years have been difficult, but she has done her best to move on. Now the mother of seven is showing her kids what it means to be a survivor.
Ami and Billy Brown had a whirlwind romance as she married the explorer when she was only 15. After getting married, the Browns decided to live off the grid in the wilds of Alaska. Their children were brought up working on fishing vessels and living off the land. The Alaskan Bush People series shared how isolating a life like that could be, showing the family making their own butter, living without electricity, and even developing an accent. Eventually, the family relocated to Washington after a few uncomfortable run-ins while in Alaska. At times, the show's validity has been questioned, but no one has ever questioned just how strong Ami is.

After Billy's death in February of 2021, Ami was left raising the Wolf Pack on her own, which consisted of Bam, Bear, Matt, Gabe, Noah, Bird, and Rain Brown. Even though Alaskan Bush People's Ami was heartbroken, she kept forging on and decided to focus on decorating the home Billy built for her on top of their mountain. Sadly, while mourning the loss of Billy, the Palmer Wildfires took out the property and land, leaving them nothing but smoldering dreams. Nonetheless, Ami proved over and over that North Star Ranch will thrive, which was evident when she had the grandchildren running around for Easter.
