Acer announces refreshed versions of its Swift 5 and Swift 3 notebooks, powered by Intel's latest 12th-gen processors. Apart from Intel's new chips, the laptops pack a host of other upgrades across the board. Acer's Swift series features thin and lightweight laptops, targeted at both professionals and casual users depending on the model. The brand is known for updating the Swift range with new chipsets and features and has been quick to make use of Intel's new chips.
Intel recently announced its Alder Lake P-series and U-series processors, which are designed for thinner and lighter notebooks. They will be seen on convertibles, detachables, 2-in-1s, and even foldable laptops. There are over 20 new chips in the lineup, which Intel expects will power over 250 laptops in 2022 alone. Intel says the new 12th-gen processors offer up to a 70 percent improvement in multi-thread performance compared to the previous-generation Tiger Lake models. The chips employ hybrid x86 architecture, using a combination of performance and efficiency cores. Apart from supporting Intel's Xe integrated graphics, they also employ WiFi 6E, Thunderbolt 4.0, and PCIe 4.0 standards.

The Acer Swift 5 is powered by Intel 12th-gen processors with up to 12 cores and Intel Iris Xe graphics. It also comes with Intel Evo certifications such as instant wake from sleep and 10-hour battery life. Acer claims a 30-minute charge can result in four hours of usage.
