"A simple method to e-verify your Income Tax Returns is by using your #Aadhaar. If your Aadhaar is linked with #PAN, you can e-verify your #ITR using Aadhaar. Please note that your mobile number must be registered in Aadhaar to avail of this service," UIDAI tweeted on Friday.
However, if your Aadhaar and PAN are not linked then you are advised to link your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with your Aadhaar card by March 31, 2022. You can link both the documents online by visiting the official website of the Income Tax Department. Not only for e-verifying ITR but linking these documents are also important as if you fail to link the documents by the given deadline then your PAN card will become invalid and you will also have to pay Rs. 1,000 for PAN Aadhaar linking.
