A Savannah Haunting Movie Trailer Teases Real-Life Haunted House Horrors
A new haunted house tale, A Savannah Haunting, set and based on prior events in a reportedly real haunted house, is coming at the end of October from Vertical Entertainment.
Written and directed by William Mark McCullough, the horror film is based on his and his family’s very real experiences in a Savannah home with a documented history of hauntings. Traumatized by the drowning death of her daughter, a mother (Gena Shaw) grapples with her own grief and guilt under the shadow of sinister, evil forces in their new home.

According to Bloody Disgusting, not only is the film based on reportedly real experiences by McCullough, but it was shot in the actual house where the McCulloughs were tormented by supernatural forces. The trailer shows what looks to be a horrific, slow-build terror that revels in its own explorations of grief and mothering. Known for his roles in films like American Made,Hillbilly Elegy, andLogan Lucky, A Savannah Haunting will be McCullough's directorial debut.
“No one else could capture the truth of the terror as much as someone who lived through it. Because my home, in many ways, acts as a character in the film and has such a unique architectural style, I chose to use my actual house as the setting for the film," McCullough said. The film also stars Tommi Rose, Anna Harriette Pittman, Dean WestandSimbi Kali. The film was created by McCullough's own Fort Argyle Films, which he co-founded with Alexis Nelson in 2011. The film also spawned a feature-length documentary filmed while in production of the struggles the cast and crew endured while filming in an active haunted house.
