Paramout has announced more details on the next A Quiet Place film. The film we knew was coming in 2023 is now confirmed to be a prequel titled A Quiet Place: Day One.
This is a spinoff from the main series, and it's set to be directed by Michael Sarnoski, who made waves with this movie Pig starring Nicolas Cage. Jeff Nichols (Mud, Midnight Special) was lined up to direct the spinoff before he dropped out and Sarnoski came aboard.
Paramount Pictures confirmed the title during CinemaCon today. There is no word yet on the cast or plot. However, the title--Day One--suggests the story will focus on the origins of the alien invasion. 2020's A Quiet Place: Part II included flashback scenes that showed the moment the aliens first came to earth, but it was only a tease, with the story then jumping back into the future.
As for A Quiet Place Part III, it's scheduled to premiere in 2025. There is no word yet on if John Krasinski will return as director. A Quiet Place video game is also in the works. The two A Quiet Place films have collectively grossed more than $650 million at the box office.
Also during Paramount's CinemaCon briefing, the company announced the title of Mission: Impossible 7, which is Dead Reckoning: Part One.
