For the past few days, rumors have been flying regarding the possibility of a Nintendo Direct taking place at the end of this week. Industry insider Jeff Grubb recently hinted that there could be a Direct of some kind next month, but an update from Nintendo Japan has hinted that it could occur sooner. Now that we know a Direct is likely, insiders are coming out of the woodwork to share their hints at possible reveals that could take place during the show.
One of these leakers is a Twitter account going by the name Pyoro, which claims that a new 2D Mario game is in development and will be revealed at the next Nintendo Direct. The tweet is very cryptic, and there's no indication that Pyoro is using reliable sources, so take this with a massive pinch of salt. However, the thing that makes Pyoro a bit more of an interesting case is that they recently predicted the existence of Sonic Superstars as well as the stealth announcement of Everybody 1-2-Switch at the start of the month.

Both of those predictions gives Pyoro a bit more weight than you're average anonymous Twitter insider, though it's worth pointing out that they also have made very few tweets considering the account is over two years old. With obscure "insiders" like this, it's always possible they simply made a bunch of random predictions and deleted the ones that weren't accurate. However, the specificity of the Everybody 1-2-Switch leak and Sonic Superstars makes Pyoro one to at least keep an eye on.
