A Mario Kart 8 Deluxe datamine may have revealed some upcoming DLC tracks
videogameschronicle.comA datamine of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe‘s latest software update has potentially uncovered some of the DLC tracks yet to be confirmed for the game.
Today sees the release of the first of six waves of DLC courses included with the Booster Course Pass.
The first wave contains eight tracks, but there are another 40 which have still to be officially confirmed by Nintendo.
According to dataminer OatmealDome, the upcoming tracks are listed in the game under awkward and indecipherable names, such as Csnw_01 and Csnw_02, potentially in an attempt to avoid datamining.
However, as spotted by Source Gaming’s Joshua Goldie on Twitter, the update also includes a file showing a new banner for the Booster Course Pass.
This banner shows characters racing on a strip of road that’s made up of images from all the DLC courses, meaning players with a keen eye may be able to identify unannounced ones.

It’s worth noting that because this image was reportedly datamined and isn’t actually visible while playing the game, it may be an outdated placeholder file and the track images on it may not be accurate.
The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, which costs $24.99 / £24.99, will provide 48 DLC tracks across six waves, the first of which landed today.
The courses will include remakes of classic tracks from across the series from games such as Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii, as well as handheld entries and the mobile game, Mario Kart Tour.
The last mainline entry in Nintendo’s racing series, Mario Kart 8, was released for Wii U in 2014.
