FIFA 23 launched at the end of September, and already, PC fans have been dealt a better hand than in previous years. PC players now have the next-gen version to play, and FIFA 23 is the first in the series to have cross-play. The World Cup is popular with FIFA fans every time it comes around. If you were hoping for a World Cup mode in FIFA 23, you might be in luck. A recent FIFA 23 leak has shown off in-game menus for a potential World Cup mode.
FIFA Youtuber known as FUT Mentor shared a clip on Twitter showing how PS5 players can access the FIFA 23 World Cup menus early. At the time of writing, it’s unknown if you can visit the same menus on PC. However, it’s unlikely, as FUT Mentor has to use the PlayStation’s “start activity” option to get there. Although it doesn’t seem like you can fully navigate the FIFA 23 World Cup menus, they tell us a lot about what EA could have planned for the mode.
Firstly, there is a World Cup Live section that could allow you to keep up with the tournament in real-time as it progresses. Also, we can see a FIFA World Cup kick-off mode, which could be single matches in the theme of Qatar 2022.
The online tournaments section suggests that you can join in with the World Cup action with your friends. Finally, the FIFA 2022 World Cup will likely allow players to experience playing through the tournament with the country you choose.
All the action around the FIFA 2022 World Cup begins in Qatar on November 20. So, if this leak is even real, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer for an official announcement from EA on what the FIFA 23 World Cup mode will entail.
