A Fall Guys clone called Stumble Guys has topped the iPhone game charts
A Fall Guys clone called Stumble Guys has topped the free iPhone game charts in both the US and the UK.
Developed by Finland’s Kitka Games, Stumble Guys actually soft launched a few months after Fall Guys released for PS4 and PC in August 2020, before launching globally in January 2021.
While it achieved moderate success last year, the game has really taken off in recent months, according to data from market intelligence tool AppMagic (via MobileGamer.biz).
Stumble Guys, which now has been downloaded over 163 million times and generated $21.5 million since launch, is also currently in top 10 of both the US and UK Google Play download charts.
Much like Fall Guys, the multiplayer knockout game sees players competing to complete a series of colourful obstacle courses until there’s just one person left standing, and it also includes a range of customisation options.
A PC version of Stumble Guys was also released in October 2021 and its developer claims the title now attracts 18 million daily players.
Stumble Guys was reportedly downloaded 32.8 million times in June, when it generated $6.6 million in user spending.
Downloads peaked on June 25, when 1.5 million players downloaded the game in a single day.
The peak in Stumble Guys daily downloads came just four days after Fall Guys went free-to-play last month.
On June 21, Fall Guys was also released for the first time on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and the Epic Games Store.
The PC version was removed from sale on Steam too, although existing owners will continue to receive full support.
Fall Guys developer Mediatonic recently said the chaotic battle royale game hit 50 million players within two weeks of its free-to-play release.
