Yara Zaya from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise recently spoke out about Russian aggression and a possible impending war that is threatening her home country of Ukraine, and mentioned that her family is in a safe place. As tensions mount at the Ukrainian border, fans have wondered about Yara’s feelings on the potential dangers her family faces. Yara is extremely concerned, and from the tone of her latest Instagram post, the situation is weighing on her heavily.
When she first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 8, Yara didn’t seem like she was eager to leave home in Ukraine and move to the United States to be with her fiancé, Jovi Dufren. Though Jovi’s parents were initially worried that Yara just wanted a Green Card and a free ticket to America, they were shocked to find that if Yara had her way, she would be moving back to Ukraine with Jovi after getting married. But the couple decided to stay in the U.S. with their young daughter, Mylah, and have been trying to figure out where in the country they should set down roots. Yara is still very close with her family in Ukraine and will always have strong ties to her homeland.

In recent weeks, Russia has stepped up its aggression towards neighboring country Ukraine, and Russian President Vladamir Putin has resisted attempts from the U.S. and Ukraine to de-escalate. With Yara’s family still residing in Ukraine, Yara is understandably concerned and recently commented in an Instagram post that she is “scared” and “worried.” But Yara’s not too anxious about her loved ones back home. “My family is all in a safe place, I am worried about my country,” she added, lamenting the fact that war is looming.
