She was introduced to viewers on the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, during season 4, appearing with Geoffrey Paschel, who recently began his 18-year prison sentence for kidnapping and assaulting his ex-fiancee. Given the circumstances, Varya and Geoffrey did not get married. However, Varya still immigrated to America through the DV program (Diversity Immigrant Visa).
Varya is now living in Knoxville, Tennessee, looking after Geoffrey's house and dogs, and it is reported that she has support from Geoffrey's brothers and friends. While she displays a positive attitude online, it is clear that Geoffrey's prison sentence has taken a toll on the reality star. Fans have wondered if the medical research study was a way to take her mind off of the shock that she felt due to his sentence, and the realization that she will be embarking on a new life without Geoffrey.

Varya has been open about her mental health struggles, and recently participated in a medical research study focusing on the way that depression and anxiety treatments affect blood pressure. Before the research took place, she had to prove that she was in good physical health. Varya had to have multiple tests in the weeks before the medical trial, and reports indicate that she passed them all. While participating in the study, Varya was hooked up to a heart monitor, and nurses would come in every 20 minutes to check on her. She was unable to eat during the first stage of the monitoring, and claimed that she almost passed out after the nurses
