Kevin Smith confirms that HBO Max's DC Comics series, Strange Adventures, has officially been canceled after several years of development. Since the launch of HBO Max, Warner Bros. has been attempting to bring more original content from the many properties that they own. One of their major franchises that were going to utilize more on the HBO-branded service was the DC Universe, with original shows like Titans, Doom Patrol, or spinoffs related to the DCEU and The Batman universe. Shows like Peacemaker, a spinoff from The Suicide Squad, were launched in early 2022, and HBO Max is currently working on The Penguin, which will be an offshoot series from The Batman.
