The Nintendo Switch 2 will be a conservative hardware evolution over the original model, according to a recent report from a Chinese peripheral manufacturer.

In a Facebook post shared earlier this week, which has since been edited, Chinese manufacturer Mobapad revealed some additional information on the next console by Nintendo.

The console, according to the report, will support both the current Pro Controller and Joy-Con controllers as well as HD rumble (ALPS dual-axis linear motor), but the size of the new Joy-Con motor will be smaller.

While the current Joy-Con controllers will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, it won't be possible to attach them to the console in handheld mode due to a new horizontal magnetic docking system, which will only support the new version of the controllers. The new console will also retain the USB-C port for docking, which will be compatible with a new generation of docks featuring minor design improvements, such as a metal bracket for improved angle adjustments.
