Franchise director Christian Gudegast opened up about the possibility of Lionsgate greenlighting after more than a week since the theatrical release of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.
So far, the Gerard Butler-led sequel has already garnered a worldwide gross of over $32 million at the box office. It currently has a 61% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is higher than the first installment.
During a recent interview, when asked about his potential pitch for a Den of Thieves threequel, Gudegast confirmed that they have actually already pitched the project to Lionsgate.
At the moment, further details about his pitch are still under wraps, but it seems like things are looking good for the project. “It’s already pitched.
It’s already done. We’re ready to go,” Gudegast said (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We’re feeling very good about it.” Den of Thieves 2: Pantera was written and directed by Christian Gudegast, who reportedly spent time with investigators and notorious thieves in order to prepare for the sequel.
