Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently opened up about the company working on a variety of remakes of some of the earlier games, as well as what the plans are for the developer moving forward.

In a new interview on Ubisoft’s website, Guillemot was asked about the future of the Assassin’s Creed series, and teased that remakes of some of the earlier games in the franchise were coming. “Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich,” said Guillemot.

While Guillemot didn’t go into detail on what exactly was coming, there have been various hints and rumors of remakes in the works at Ubisoft.

In 2023, a report popped up that the developer was working on a remake of the 2013 game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. As far as new games go, Guillemot said that his hope is to have new Assassin’s Creed games coming out “more regularly,” but to make sure each game feels different.

He specifically mentioned the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Hexe, as well as the upcoming Assasin’s Creed: Shadows. “There will be plenty of experience variety,” Guillemot said. “The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year.”
