MultiVersus Joker Gameplay Trailer Previews Free Game’s Return

Warner Bros.’ crossover fighting game launches on May 28, featuring at least 25 playable characters at launch. The new Send In the Clowns teasers showcase gameplay for the Joker, who developers revealed last week. The latest trailer also features an easy-to-miss reveal of which superhero team is joining the game next.

The new trailer premiered on Monday, showcasing the Joker’s abilities in the upcoming game. Voiced by Mark Hamill, MultiVersus’ Joker is a mage-class character armed with various wacky weapons. These include a rocket launcher, spring-loaded boxing glove, and a weaponized pogo stick for jumping attacks. The latter goes well with the Joker’s ability to take to the sky on a balloon. His iconic “Bang” gag pistol also briefly makes an appearance.

As seen in his reveal trailer last week, the Joker’s default appearance in MultiVersus is based on Batman: The Animated Series. However, he has two alternate variants: The Batman Who Laughs and The Dark Prince Charming. The former appears prominently battling Finn, Taz, and Tom and Jerry in Scooby’s Haunted Mansion. The trailer briefly shows the Joker’s other alternate skin a few scenes later when he teams up with Harley Quinn, who is also using a new alternate costume.

The trailer’s story sees the Joker hacking into the Bat Computer to access Batman’s files on the other fighters. He also doodles on Wonder Woman’s face, makes a few anti-Batman memes, and reads some mean tweets about the Caped Crusader. Fans who pay attention will notice that Batman also has a file for The Powerpuff Girls, revealing that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are coming to MultiVersus. While this is unconfirmed, it appears that they will be a single fighter, like Tom and Jerry.
