Apple is reportedly working on notebooks with folding displays that could double-up as external monitors. Folding displays are becoming increasingly more mainstream, with many companies launching smartphones and tablets with the new-age form-factor. Nevertheless, Apple has remained conspicuously absent from the list, although that might not be the case for very long.
Apple's rumored folding iPhone has long been talked about, but this is the first time people are hearing about a possible folding MacBook in the works. The report mentioned a few interesting tidbits about the folding notebook, although most of the crucial aspects are still under wraps.

According to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young, Apple is working on a large, all-screen notebook with a folding display. The device could reportedly serve a dual purpose for users. It could be folded to be used as a notebook with a full-size keyboard and also unfurled into a massive display around 20-inches in size for use as a monitor with an external keyboard. In addition, the device may have a 4K UHD or higher resolution, which is to be expected for a high-end monitor of that size. As for when it could come to the market, Young said he believes it could happen in 2026 or 2027, which means it is still a few years away from becoming a reality.
The DSCC report also predicted that the rumored folding iPhone is unlikely to be released anytime soon. Apple is only likely to introduce it by 2025 at the earliest.
