20th Century Studios' feature film adaptation of Stephen King's Boogeyman has cast two leads. Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher and Birds of Prey star Chris Messina have signed onto the Hulu project.
The Hulu film will be based on King's short story of the same name, which was published as part of his The Night Shift collection in 1978. Boogeyman centers on a man's visit to a psychiatrist, where he recalls how his children were murdered by the eponymous character. The narrative focuses on a teenage girl and her brother, still grieving the death of their mother, as they are plagued by a sadistic presence in their home and struggle to get their mourning father to pay attention to the horrific situation.
