Microsoft updates its Xbox Game Pass offerings on a regular basis, with new additions spread throughout any given month. The new Xbox Game Pass games added on August 23 should be particularly interesting for subscribers. The latest Xbox Game Pass update adds a brand-new day one release, and it also makes a PlayStation console exclusive game available to play through PC Game Pass.

As of August 23, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out Midnight Fight Express across all platforms and Death Stranding through PC Game Pass. Midnight Fight Express is the brand-new, day one release. It is an action-focused brawler that was mostly made by a single developer. Midnight Fight Express reviews have been mostly positive so far, but Game Pass subscribers can come their own conclusions about the game without paying more than their subscription fee.

Death Stranding, meanwhile, is a PlayStation console exclusive whose jump to PC Game Pass has caused quite the stir. Death Stranding was originally published by Sony when it first launched in 2019, with Sony also shouldering much of the game's marketing effort and helping fund its development at Kojima Productions. Considering the financial investment Sony made when it comes to Death Stranding, it's been a shock to many to see it come to Game Pass, even though it's only available on the PC version of the service and not on Xbox consoles.

While Death Stranding was originally published by Sony as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the game did eventually make its way to other platforms. A Death Stranding PC port was made, plus the game made it to the PS4's replacement, the PlayStation 5. It seems unlikely that the game will make it to Xbox consoles
