Wong's (Benedict Wong) confirmed appearance in She-Hulk continues a perfect change in MCU Phase 4. Not long after his involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the current Sorcerer Supreme is already set for his next franchise outing. This time, Wong will be making his Disney+ debut in Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk.
Introduced in the original Doctor Strange film in 2017, Wong started as the no-nonsense librarian in Kamar-Taj before becoming Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) most trusted ally. After his first appearance in the MCU, he had small but important roles in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. During the five years that Doctor Strange was dusted, Wong assumed the position as the Sorcerer Supreme and he continues to hold that title as the franchise moves forward from the Infinity Saga. Aside from being the Ancient One's (Tilda Swinton) successor, Wong also plays an important role in Phase 4 — one that's previously carried out by fan-favorite Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg).

When the MCU kicked off in the late 2000s, the franchise's interconnected storytelling wasn't clearly laid out yet. That being said, Coulson functioned as the common thread across all Phase 1 films (excluding Captain America: The First Avenger), leading to its culmination in The Avengers. In Phase 4, Wong has taken over the role as he appeared in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where he helped Doctor Strange defend MCU’s newest hero, America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) against Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
