Apple Watch saves lives. Yes, it does. However, 21 year old Lauren from Sydney, Australia has an Apple Watch warning to share with you. Lauren says her Apple Watch noticed a critical fall in her health parameters, but the gadget did not send any warning to her! Why? Because Lauren had not switched on the notifications feature on her Apple Watch! This mistake on her part caused her to go through months of pain and stress and it could even have led to something worse. If only Lauren had switched on the Apple Watch health notifications, she would have seen how ill she was and taken preventive steps months before she actually did. She had been dismissive of her symptoms and merely thought, "I’m just tired. I’ll be all right’."
Ultimately, Lauren consulted a doctor, but only after her symptoms went from bad to worse. Lauren, a nursing student in Sydney, Australia learned from the hospital that she had a rare thyroid problem. This was in December. However, she was feeling ill from way back in October. For months she had been suffering from fatigue, extreme sensitivity to sunlight and weight gain.
The hospital reports indicated that Lauren had half her thyroid missing! The disease is called Thyroid hemiagenesis. It was only after her hospital visit that she noticed from a chart in her Apple Watch a massive fall in her oxygen intake. It was a big indication that her body was suffering from a critical illness. She said, "That’s when I could see the trend that my Vo2 max had dropped, literally in a matter of days.” Vo2 indicates how a body handles oxygen intake.
Now, Lauren has a warning for everybody and that is to switch on all the Apple Watch Health app notifications so that any ailment that you may be suffering from are revealed
