It took almost exactly two years after the release of Hollow Knight for developer Team Cherry to share a reveal trailer for a sequel, called Hollow Knight: Silksong, this time with a different protagonist that strives to understand a new kingdom. Hollow Knight: Silksong players will control Hornet, the princess-protector of Hollownest, while she ventures through caves and forests to reach a mysterious shining citadel.
The premise of Hollow Knight: Silksong is quite enticing, and Team Cherry made it even more hype-inducing thanks to brief hands-on demo sessions at E3 in 2019. Because the first game was such a massive success among Metroidvania fans, the sequel is now one of the most anticipated games currently in development.
