For years, 1000-lb Sisters fans have been divided over whether or not they like Amy Slaton's husband, Michael Halterman. The father of two has been talked about a lot by viewers, and the things they've said haven't always been positive. Now, it looks like followers may be turning on him for good.
After three 1000-lb Sisters seasons, Michael has remained a relatively quiet character on the series. Being caught in the middle, between Tammy and Amy (both women are much louder than he is), has made it difficult for him to carve out his own niche. In the beginning, viewers warmed up to Michael thanks to his caring side. He has often come across as one heck of a husband and brother in law. Michael has never complained about helping Tammy leave the house, and has always been ready to do his part. However, every so often, viewers feel as if they may not know the real Michael.

It was also revealed that Michael and Amy were locked in the family basement by her brother, and told to experiment with one another. This disturbing account has triggered concerns among Amy's supporters. In 2015, before he met her, Michael was arrested for domestic violence. While there has never been a fight aired on 1000-lb Sisters, viewers aren't convinced that a leopard can change its spots.
