The Umbrella Academy follows the Hargreeves, seven adopted siblings who along with other 36 children around the world were born on the same day, at the same time, to women who weren’t pregnant when the day began. Scientist and billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves set out to adopt as many of those kids as he could but only adopted seven, and as they developed superpowers, he trained them and formed The Umbrella Academy. After parting ways and having to reunite years later to save the world in season 1, the Hargreeves have been forced to rebuild their relationship and stop the apocalypse on two more occasions, but the one in The Umbrella Academy season 3 almost saw the demise of all the Hargreeves, all thanks to Reginald.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 saw the title team and the surviving members of the Sparrow Academy joining forces to stop the kugelblitz that would, once more, end the world, all while Reginald had some selfish plans prepared. Reginald seemed to have bonded with Klaus as he helped him explore his powers and unleash their full potential, but when it came to entering Oblivion to save themselves from the apocalypse and reset the timeline, Reginald left Klaus to die.
