According to a developer at CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 will only receive one expansion due to the work CD Projekt Red is putting into Project Orion, the game's sequel. The new project was announced recently alongside two new Witcher projects and a brand-new IP for CD Projekt Red currently known as Project Hadar. The announcement of a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel excited a lot of fans, but it also raised some confusion as many have since pointed out that CD Projekt Red's current plans for the sci-fi RPG perhaps don't match prior stated intentions.
Previously, it was expected that Cyberpunk 2077 would have more post-launch content than The Witcher 3. However, following the release of the first teaser for the Phantom Liberty expansion, CD Projekt Red made it clear that the DLC was the only major piece of content it had planned for Cyberpunk 2077.
