Mario Strikers: Battle League launched just last month to good but not great reviews from critics, including Game Rant. While most can agree that Nintendo's overexaggerated family-friendly soccer game is enjoyable, there's a lack of content and new things for returning fans to do. Many fans even took to social media to complain about the absence of Daisy, a character that was available in past Mario Strikers games.
But lo and behold, Nintendo seems to be changing all that by announcing the first free update for Mario Strikers: Battle League, and some people will be happy to hear that Daisy is indeed coming to the game, as well as Shy Guy, and some other stuff.

The first free update for Mario Strikers: Battle League will be available on Thursday, July 21, at 6 PM PT. For other time zones, check out the list below to see when the update should go live:
The big part of the update is the inclusion of Daisy and Shy Guy as playable characters. However, there's also a new stage to play on, called Desert Ruin. And on top of that, a new piece of gear called the Knight set increases a player's strength and shooting.
Daisy is a technique type that will be hard to knock down, but her weakness lies in her low speed. And as for Shy Guy, he's an all-rounder that basically has all of his stats in the same place. Since Shy Guy is decent at everything, he makes for a good pick for beginner Battle League players.
