Have you ever wanted to share something on Twitter but hesitated as the whole world might see it? We've all been there. In effect, the lack of this feature had limited Twitter's utility especially if you wanted to share something private with your girlfriends. It seems that Twitter has been listening. Twitter has announced a new Twitter Circle feature which lets you tweet selectively to a select group of friends or colleagues without letting the whole world see it.
The Circle feature is essentially a WhatsApp group for Twitter where you can share tweets within the group without anyone on the outside seeing it. Twitter says, “Twitter Circle is a way to send Tweets to select people, and share your thoughts with a smaller crowd. You choose who's in your Twitter Circle, and only the individuals you've added can reply to and interact with the Tweets you share in the circle.”
The Circle feature was initially in the test phase from May, 2022 with a limited number of users on iOS, Android, and web having access to it. But now, Twitter has released the feature for everyone so you should have access to it.
According to Twitter's official blog post, you can add up to 150 people to the Twitter Circle who will be able to see what you tweet in the group. Twitter Circle allows you to Tweet to a smaller audience of your choice. Anyone on Twitter can be added to a circle, even if they don't follow someone. Once in the circle, they'll be able to see Tweets and replies shared in that circle. If a circle member keeps a protected account, only their followers who are in your Twitter Circle can see their replies.
