Like Facebook and WhatsApp, Meta owned photo sharing app Instagram too shows your online status and last active time to your pals. Instagram Activity Status feature, reveals when you last used the app. The status option displays whom you’ve texted, when you were most recently active, and if you’re currently active or not. However, it’s not visible to all but it is only visible to those whom you follow and have chatted with. If someone follows you but you are not following them back, they probably wouldn’t be able to see your activity status. Also, you can see your friends' activity status only if you follow them. You may see your followers’ status by going to the DM's tab.

Instagram’s activity status feature is enabled by default on your IG account. So if you want to browse freely and don’t want others to see your online status, you can always disable this feature. Let’s go through the steps to disable the last seen feature on Instagram .

How to disable last seen on Instagram app

Step 1: Open your Instagram account on either android or iOS device and head to your Profile section by tapping your profile image in the lower right corner.

Step 2: Next, navigate to the Settings tab from the hamburger bar (three horizontal bars).

Step 3: Now, go to Privacy and tap on Activity Status. The Show Activity Status option will be shown enabled by default on the following page. Click on that to turn it off.

Step 4: That’s all, your Instagram activity indicator will be disabled, and you can surf freely without fear of being seen.
