Many iPhone fans have wanted a USB type-C charging port on their device for years. While Apple has not come out with one so far despite many rumors, a YouTuber has now built an iPhone X that has it. And what’s more, he also made it completely waterproof and staked a claim that his is the the world's first ever waterproof iPhone X with a USB type-C charger.

In the video, Jöbstl kept the iPhone X with its display on under running water to demonstrate that it was indeed waterproof. True to his words, the iPhone worked perfectly fine even after its long shower. He also displayed the functional USB type-C port by connecting the phone to his laptop using a Type-C cable. Jöbstl admittedly relied on the files shared by Phillonel on GitHub to build his variant. Using that as a reference point, Jöbstl found an IPX8-rated water-resistant USB-C connector and added it to the iPhone.
His invention was not a smooth one, however. The YouTuber faced his share of challenges while making the iPhone X waterproof. He had to source the PD006 adaptor, replace the iPhone’s mechanical structure with a carbon fiber body and used superglue to keep the wires and chipset
