First, let's take a look at how you can use your schematics for research.
The Athenaeum is the third-tier research bench that will unlock after you defeat Raziel the Shepherd for the first time. This is a level 60 boss that can be found within the Dunley Monastery, which is right in the center of the Dunley Farmlands.
Once defeated, you can craft an Athenaeum with the following materials.
At your newly crafted Athenaeum, you can now research new technology with 100 schematics.
While defeating enemies, you may also come across Athenaeum research books. This allows you to research a specific item without using any schematics.
Schematics are a high-level item, which means you will need to fight high-level enemies to find them.
In general, you can find schematics from enemies within the Silverlight Hills. Enemies here range from level 60 upward, so it's important to come prepared when searching for schematics here; one wrong move and you may die!
