NetEase, Blizzard's publisher in China, has unveiled changes to their rewards program. Chinese players participating in the program will now receive points when they report a player and this report leads to an account action. Last year NetEase released a rewards program for China Battle.Net platform, with players earning points whenever they spend money in Blizzard's game in China.
Players can then use these points to buy a plethora of Blizzard cosmetics for many different games. Players earn 1 point per Yuan spent. As of last week, players are now also able to earn these points by creating reports against other players that lead into account actions.
That means it is possible to Chinese players to now obtain coveted rewards like TCG cosmetics in WoW, Hearthstone Packs, and Heroes of the Storm skins just by reporting botters, hackers, and poorly behaviored players. The more players accurate reports you submit, the more points you received, being able to climb rankings in the system. It is important to highlight that this system is only available to players playing on the Chinese region. Many of the rewards available in this point store, like TCG Items for WoW, were never available otherwise to Chinese players.
