Realme is launching a new phone that will be capable of charging with a power of 240W. Yes, a phone that is capable of charging with a power of 240W. Realme is yet to announce the phone but rumours suggest it will be the Realme GT Neo 5. The phone will be unveiled at an event in China on January 5 and could later make it to global markets. With 240W charging tech, the Realme GT Neo 5 could become the world's most powerful and fastest charging technology to swear by.
Rumours suggest that the phone will use the 240W wired charging technology for filling up a 4600mAh battery. Realme will, however, use its older 150W charging technology for a cheaper variant with 5000mAh battery cell. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will power the 240W variant whereas the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chip will power the 150W variant.
What remains to be seen is whether this 240W charging reduces the charging speed drastically. The 210W charging that Xiaomi uses on its Redmi Note 12 Pro Explorer edition promises to fill up the phone's battery within 9 minutes. We expect Realme to do a similar charging time with its 240W charging system.
The Realme GT Neo 3 150W is currently the fastest charging smartphone from the stable. The phone relies on the Dimensity 8100 platform and offers a similarly fast charging speed to the 120W charging solutions from iQOO and Xiaomi.
On the other hand, Realme is going to announce the Realme 10 in India. The phone is already out in global markets and is expected to bring a Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, a 6.4-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP main camera, a 5000mAh battery and a 33W wired charging solution.
