Ubisoft outlines the future of The Division and Rainbow Six on mobile

The Division 2 is getting one more year of support, while betas for The Division and Rainbow Six mobile games will launch this autumn.

Assassin’s Creed may have got most of the love during the recent Ubisoft Forward event, but The Division series was also treated to a handful of related announcements.

Firstly, The Division 2 is getting at least another year of support, with seasons 10 and 11 to debut later this year. In fact, season 10 starts tomorrow, on Tuesday, September 13.

Season 11 will introduce a new PvE mode, but no real details have been shared about that yet.

While the continued support means there probably won’t be a The Division 3 anytime soon, Ubisoft highlighted its two upcoming spin-offs as well.

First, there’s The Division Heartland. Not counting the gameplay leak from last year, this Ubisoft Forward served as the first real look at the game, which is a free-to-play title for consoles, PC, and mobile.

It still retains the survival shooter gameplay from the main games, but the brief look didn’t really cover Heartland’s modes or monetisation. Weirdly, last week’s listing on Ubisoft’s website told us more of what to expect.

There’s still no release window, but Ubisoft is now letting the public sign up for a chance to participate in closed beta tests. Although there’s no indication of when the first of these will be available.

As for the mobile exclusive The Division Resurgence, which was only announced this year, its closed beta does have a date.

It will run later this autumn and will include the Conflict and Dark Zone PvP modes.

In other Tom Clancy related news, there was a brief trailer for Rainbow Six Mobile, which also has a closed beta that’s available starting today. Although it’s only for Android devices.
