Meta-owned social media messenger app, WhatsApp will be introducing a number of exciting new features in 2022. Last year, the instant messaging platform rolled out several amazing features including voice and video calling on the desktop, disappearing photos and videos, that helped users to deal with the pandemic related lockdowns by working or schooling at home and not having to venture out. Now, WhatsApp is looking to maintain the trend by rolling out more new features this year as well. WhatsApp is set to roll out a very nice addition that will display profile photos in iOS system notifications when the user receives new messages from chats and groups. This feature has been released to some beta testers only on iOS 15 for now but it is expected to be rolled out for other users as well.
As of now, WhatsApp users can hide last seen from all their contacts, but not from specifically targetted ones. However, the app is planning to enhance this feature by allowing the users to select a specific person or persons from whom they want to hide the last seen while other contacts will be visible to them.
The instant messaging app is reportedly planning to redesign the interface that informs who you’re sending the media to as well as allow users to select new recipients before sharing their media. New feature is also speculated to allow users to upload the media to their status update, while sending the image, video, GIF to a WhatsApp chat.
WhatsApp has enabled users to redact to WhatsApp messages with emoji similar to that of other social networking sites such as Facebook
