Earlier this year, the Tomb Raider movie sequel was reportedly cancelled with a reboot said to be in the planning phase. Now, artist Jake Lunt Davies has shared scrapped storyboards for a scene that would've seen Croft Manor being infiltrated by Trinity.
Trinity is an underground military organisation that wants to use supernatural powers to conquer humanity, hence its search for ancient artefacts. By the looks of things, they were going to step up their presence in the sequel, going after Croft directly. The boards show masked figures breaking into her manor during a stormy night, toying with the power and scurrying across the roof (thanks, Eurogamer).

"A flash of lightning illuminates the gardens", one of the panels reads, showing several figures running through the dark. We then see the infiltrators hacking into what could be Croft's security systems before breaking in through a glass door.
When asked if he had any other unseen storyboards up his sleeve, Davies said, "Yes... I have more!" But when asked if he could share them, he added, "I can only share a little for now. And unfortunately it never made it to the screen so there's no further development to see!"
Lara Croft actor Alicia Vikander confirmed that the sequel was put on ice back in July, "With the MGM and Amazon buyout, I have no clue. Now it's kind of politics. I think Misha [Green] and I have been ready, so it's kind of in somebody else's hands, to be honest."
For context, Amazon acquired MGM for $8 billion to expand its Prime subscription service, though this left Tomb Raider 2 in the air before its reported cancellation. It was initially planned to release back in 2021 but that obviously
