Gearbox Entertainment has agreed to acquire Tiny Tina's Wonderland co-developer Lost Boys Interactive for an undisclosed fee.
The deal will mean Lost Boys' team of over 220 developers will now create games under the Gearbox banner, bringing Gearbox's global headcount to roughly 1,300 staff.
Lost Boys has was founded in 2017 as a remote-first studio with offices in Madison, Wisconsin, and Austin. The company has worked on notable franchises including Call of Duty, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and Tiny Tina's Wonderland.
The studio is currently undergoing a period of rapid expansion and aims to grow its headcount to 350 team members by 2024.
Lost Boys will operate as a subsidiary of Gearbox -- which recently merged with Embracer -- following the acquisition.
"Lost Boys will operate as a subsidiary to Gearbox, within the growing Embracer family, and will continue to operate independently under Gearbox Entertainment while working in tandem with Gearbox on full development projects," reads a press release.
Lost Boys CEO Shaun Nivens will report to Gearbox Software president Steve Jones once the deal has been completed.
