The native iPhone weather app has a hidden feature that you might not know about, but which can be quite useful on a day to day basis. When you open the iPhone weather app and look down at the 10-day forecast, you'll observe a white dot on the colored bars next to the predicted temperature for the current day. Do you know what this white dot does? Well, that iPhone white dot signifies where on the forecast temperature range. Here’s all you need to know about this white dot on the iPhone weather app.
iPhone introduced this feature after the iOS 15 update rolled out recently. This iPhone white dot predicts where the current temperature falls on the temperature scale for the day. For example, if today's forecast shows a high of 36 degrees and you see the white dot right near the end of the range, then this means the temperature at that moment is close to the high of the day. It predicts whether the user should expect warmer or colder temperatures for the remainder of the day and based on that you can be suitably attired for the same, so that no nasty surprises catch you out in the cold... or the heat.
The same white dot can also be seen on the scale for the UV index and the sunset times. The white dot on the UV scale shows the UV index at that exact moment so that you can determine whether you should be wearing sunscreen at this moment on this particular day or not.
White dot during sunset time indicates the sun's position compared to the horizon and also gives you an estimated time for the sunset.
Apart from these, the iOS 15 update brought a few more changes to the iPhone Weather app including a visual makeover, making it easier to navigate as well as a global map with current temperatures.
