The native iPhone weather app has a hidden feature that you might not know about, but which can be quite useful on a day to day basis. The same white dot can also be seen on the scale for the UV index and the sunset times. The white dot on the UV scale shows the UV index at that exact moment so that you can determine whether you should be wearing sunscreen at this moment on this particular day or not.
White dot during sunset time indicates the sun's position compared to the horizon and also gives you an estimated time for the sunset.
