This Is Us star Mandy Moore talks about the latest episode of the series, where her character Rebecca sings at her daughter's wedding. This Is Us follows the Pearson family in contemporary times, with flashbacks to decades past, linked through Moore's Rebecca, the matriarch of the family. Throughout the final season, modern-day Rebecca has been struggling with dementia, which has worsened as the season has progressed. The most recent This Is Us episode, titled «Day of the Wedding,» takes the Pearsons several years into the future to Kate and Phillip's wedding day. Arguably the hour's most emotional moment finds Rebecca singing a song at the reception as all of the characters look on.

In an interview with People, Moore talks about what went into the scene, which This Is Us juxtaposed with Rebecca singing to Jack in a flashback. The song she sang was the theme song for the series, which Moore mentions was the plan from series creator Dan Fogelman, bringing the song into a bigger context. Read her quote below:
