This Google Play Store app just got banned!

You will no longer find this banned Google app on the Play Store. This app that has been banned from Google Play Store is Uloz. It is a file-sharing platform in Czech Republic. It has a website as well as an official app for both Android and iOS devices. Millions of people use it as it is one of the biggest cloud storage and sharing platforms. It is even listed among the 35 most-visited websites in the Czech Republic. Not just a website, but its application is also widely downloaded and used by users. But recently, over the ongoing allegations of widespread piracy against the file-sharing platform, Google has decided to remove the application from the Play Store.

Uloz is a file storage and sharing platform and it can be used to share a wide variety of files from documents, images, videos and more, just like any other file sharing application. But copyright holders claim that people are using Uloz for sharing pirated music, movies, and TV shows. This is not the first time that such accusations have been made. Uloz has been reported to the US Trade Representative over piracy concerns earlier too.

However, Uloz has claimed that these allegations have no basis in truth and has filed a counter-notice to restore the app on Play Store.

In response to complaints filed against the file-sharing platform Uloz, Google has removed the app from the Play Store. The complaint was filed by the anti-piracy company Weemazz multiple times. On behalf of HBO Europe, Czech Television, and TV Nova, Weemazz has sent thousands of takedown notices of content to Uloz. Despite that infringing content continues to be uploaded. Hence, after the investigation, Google removed the Uloz app.
