Since the calendar flipped over to the new year, fans have been eager to hear something new about Dragon Age 4. This is because, on Dragon Age day, BioWare shared some new short stories set in Thedas, reiterated that there would be a single-player focus, but mentioned that fans would have to wait until 2022 for a new update. 2022 is a huge window for that promised update, though, so fans shouldn’t expect anything too soon.
However, Tom Henderson recently commented on the development status of Dragon Age 4. Many may know that Tom Henderson has a proven track record of insider information pertaining to Battlefield, other EA titles, and more, so his word on the matter is more authoritative than most. What he has to say isn’t surprising, either.

Henderson states that one of his sources, familiar with EA’s plans, says that there’s “no chance” Dragon Age 4 releases in 2022. Indeed, this also lines up well with something iterated by another insider, Jeff Grubb, who stated in the past that Dragon Age 4 is aiming for a 2023 release date. Considering the two, it might be EA is planning on releasing Dragon Age 4 in the fall of 2023 at the earliest, which wouldn’t rule out a slip into 2024.
That would, in turn, line up with how there’s “no chance” of it this year, but that is speculation and should be taken as such. If Dragon Age 4 is a 2023 release, it would be interesting to see what does get revealed in 2022. It would make sense for marketing to pick up, as Dragon Age 4 has only released a little here and there, but that would also likely depend on when in 2023 the game would release.
