Rapture is a member of the Reckoning, the Marvel Universe's latest villains who resemble an evil and twisted version of the Watchers. The inhabitants of planet Prosilicus are one of the oldest species in the universe. When they were still young and underdeveloped, they were visited by the Luminous, known today as the Watchers, powerful creatures who traveled the universe to share their «gifts» of knowledge and science with others. The Prosilicans, however, turned these gifts into instruments of war, becoming ruthless galactic conquerors and unleashing a weapon of mass destruction that turned nine-tenths of the universe into a toxic wasteland. The Luminous erected a barrier around what was left, sealing the Reckoning outside and taking their famous oath of never interfering again with other species, thus becoming the Watchers.
