Sega‘s Astro City Mini V mini console is now on sale across Europe.
Previously exclusive to Limited Run Games in North America, the console is now available across Europe priced at €249.99 / £229.99, and can be purchased from Amazon and other leading game retailers.
The console is similar to the previously released Astro City Mini, in that it’s based on the classic Sega arcade cabinet used throughout the 1990s.
However, the Mini V contains a completely separate list of 22 games to the Mini, all of which are presented in a ‘TATE’ (vertical aspect ratio), with the screen rotated 90 degrees accordingly.
The console doesn’t just consist of Sega games, and also includes games from iconic shoot ’em up developers such as Eighting, Psikyo and Toaplan.
It also works with the peripherals released for the previous Astro City Mini, including the separate controller and full-size arcade stick.
The full list of Sega arcade games included in the Mini V is as follows:
Like the previous Astro City Mini, the Mini V is exclusive to Limited Run Games in North America.
The Astro City Mini was eventually released in Europe at a price that was significantly higher than in other regions.
This appears to be the case again with the Astro City Mini V which, at £229.99, costs notably more than the $159.99 charged by Limited Run in North America.
However, players in Europe looking to buy from Limited Run would still have to add shipping and taxes on top of that – buying one and sending it to a UK address brings the price up to $239.34, for example, and will result in longer shipping times than that offered by local sites, such as Amazon UK‘s next-day delivery.
