The Rookie: Fedswill be featuring a Nathan Fillion cameo. The Rookieis a police procedural centered around the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department. It stars Fillion, who plays John Nolan, a forty-five-year-old man who decides to start a new career as a police officer. It’s created by Alexi Hawley and airs on ABC. In addition to Fillion, it stars Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, Titus Makin Jr., and Alyssa Diaz.
ABC confirmed that The Rookie would get a spinoff starring Niecy Nash-Betts called The Rookie: Feds in May 2022. Nash-Betts is also known for being the temporary host of The Masked Singerand for starring in Reno 911!Instead of focusing on the oldest rookie in the LAPD, The Rookie: Fedswill focus on the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy, Special Agent Simone Clark (Nash-Betts). The creator of The Rookie, Hawley, will be co-creating Fedsalongside Terence Paul Winter. In addition To Nash-Betts, Fedswill feature Felix Solis and Frankie Faison.

On a panel for The Rookie at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, fans and media representatives saw a clip from The Rookie: Feds. The clip showed Fillion and Nash-Betts appearing in a scene together. The clip isn’t available for public viewership yet, but Screen Rant was in attendance and recorded a summary of the clip. In the scene, Nash-Betts’ character Simone is on a stakeout when Fillion’s character John shows up, and they have a brief conversation about how difficult it’s been for them to catch the criminals.
At this point, it’s unclear how much of a prominent role Fillion will have in the show. Fans are wondering whether he’ll show up for cameos or if he’ll take on more of a guest star role. However, The Rookie: Feds universe already
